There’s something magnetic about Gina Royale—something in the way her lyrics hit like a late-night heart-to-heart, or how her voice carries both strength and softness at once. A singer-songwriter from Blairstown, New Jersey, Gina’s music lives somewhere between alt-pop, indie rock, and soul, but she’s less interested in fitting into a box and more focused on telling the truth.

Raised in a musical household with a father who played and performed, Gina didn’t exactly choose music—it was always just there. Writing songs became her way of processing life early on. “It was kind of like therapy,” she says. “I could be honest in songs in a way I couldn’t always be in conversation.”

Gina’s style is intimate and cinematic, shaped by influences like Sara Bareilles, Alanis Morissette, and HAIM. Her lyrics often lean personal and poetic, exploring themes like healing, identity, inner conflict, and the messiness of love. “I’m drawn to storytelling,” she says. “Even when it’s painful, there’s beauty in that.”

Her creative process changes from song to song—sometimes it starts with a melody, sometimes just a single line that keeps repeating in her head. But one thing’s consistent: it’s always real. “If it doesn’t feel like me, I won’t release it.”

2023 marked a major turning point when her track “Low” was chosen to open the film After Everything, exposing her work to a global audience and validating the years of writing, recording, and grinding behind the scenes. “That moment felt like a big breath out,” she admits. “Like okay—people are actually hearing this now.”

She’s been collaborating closely with producer Rob Freeman and artist Thomas Monaco, both of whom have helped shape her evolving sound. And now, with a new single called “Treading” dropping under the indie label Young Outlaw Music, Gina’s stepping into a new era—one that’s darker, deeper, and more emotionally layered.

“‘Treading’ is about feeling stuck but still moving—like you’re fighting to keep your head above water emotionally,” she explains. “It’s very personal, but I think a lot of people can relate to that.”

What sets Gina apart isn’t just her voice or her writing—it’s her willingness to stay grounded in who she is. In a genre that often leans polished and packaged, Gina keeps things raw. “I want my music to meet people where they are,” she says. “If someone listens to a song and feels less alone, then I’ve done my job.”

Her music is available across all streaming platforms, and fans can follow her journey at www.youngoutlawmusic.com. With momentum building and her most honest work yet on the horizon, Gina Royale is more than just an artist to watch—she’s one you’ll want to keep close.
